HEAVENLY BODIES RECIPES

Some recipes that have worked for us.  

Elin's raw tahini dressing 
Tahini is a paste made from ground, hulled sesame seeds.  It comes in raw form and roasted.
For locals, it is sold in bulk at the Co-op.  I would think Whole Foods might have it for the folks in California. 

1/2 to 3/4 cup of Tahini
1 lemon.  Juice (option zest to taste)
1 medium orange Juice (option zest to taste)
Curry to taste
Tarragon to taste.  
Garlic to taste
Milk substitute.  Soy, rice, etc. Added for consistency.

Mix tahini, lemon and orange juices. 
Add spices (taste and adjust)
Add zest optional
Thin with milk substitute.

Keep refrigerated.  note: my dressing was a lot thicker after refrigerating.  I added a bit more milk substitute.  I do not know how long it would last because it is gone too soon to tell. 


Mike's Hummus dressing or dip 
1 15 oz low sodium can  Garbanzo beans . Or cooked fresh beans
1/4 cup Roasted red peppers. (no oil) 
Juice of a Medium lemon 
1/4 Vegetable stock ( or more as needed for desired consistency) 
1/4 teaspoon Garlic
1/4 teaspoon Cumin 
1/4 teaspoon Curry
1/4 to 1/3 cup Nutritional Yeast 

Start with vegetable stock in a blender 
Add drained and rinsed garbanzo beans, roasted red peppers and the lemon juice.
Add spices.  Lastly, add Nutritional Yeast. 
May need to add more vegetable stock at some points.

Alter to suit your own taste.


Crunchy Dipping Chips
Set oven to 350

Product:  Ezekiel 4:9 Sprouted Grain Tortillas 12 pack and make them all into chips

Place 2 to 3 tortillas at a time right on the top oven rack. Turn them after 8 to 10 minutes and check on them after 5 minutes.
Remove from oven when crisp.
Set on a bread board to cool slightly.  Then press down on them to break them into smaller pieces for dipping. 
These last in their cooked state for a lot longer time than as tortillas.   They do not need to be refrigerated.  

Product. GimmeLean Sausage is the closest thing to real meat I have tasted.  We use it as patties,
Meatballs and broken up and served with noodles and a tomato sauce. We don't have it often or a lot because it has a bit of salt but it proved to me how important spices are.  (tried the beef. Nope, not for me.)
